Personal Touch Country Gifts ("we", "our", "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to everyone who visits our website at personaltouchcountrygifts.ca or makes a purchase from us. We follow the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), Canada's federal privacy law.

What we collect

When you shop with us we collect only what we need to fulfill your order:

• Name and contact information — first and last name, email address, phone number.
• Shipping and billing address — collected at checkout so we can ship your order and confirm your payment.
• Order details — the products you buy, quantities, prices, and any notes you send us.
• Payment information — processed directly by our payment provider (Stripe). We never see or store your credit card number. Stripe holds your payment details under their own privacy policy.
• Website usage information — basic analytics like which pages you view, when you visit, and what browser you use. We use this to understand how the site is performing and to fix problems.

How we use it

• Process, ship, and follow up on your orders.
• Email you order confirmations, shipping notifications, and receipts.
• Answer your questions when you contact us.
• Improve the website and product selection.
• Comply with legal or accounting requirements (Canadian tax law requires we keep sales records for six years).

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to anyone. Ever.

Who we share it with

We share only what's necessary, only with providers who help us run the shop:

• Stripe — handles all credit card processing.
• ShipNerd / Canada Post / other carriers — receive your name and shipping address to deliver your order.
• Resend — sends transactional email (order confirmations, shipping notifications) on our behalf.
• Render — hosts our website.
• Government or law enforcement — only if required by law (e.g. valid court order or tax audit).

How we keep it safe

Our website uses HTTPS encryption on every page. Payments are handled inside Stripe's PCI-compliant systems — your credit card information never touches our servers. Our order database is backed up daily and access is restricted to the shop owner. If you have a customer account with us, your password is stored as a one-way cryptographic hash — even we can't read it back.

Cookies

We use only functional cookies: one to remember what's in your shopping cart between page loads, and one to keep you signed in if you have an account. We don't use third-party advertising cookies, we don't track you across other websites, and we don't share cookie data with advertising networks.

Your rights

Under Canadian privacy law you have the right to:

• Ask what personal information we have about you.
• Ask for corrections to any inaccurate information.
• Ask us to delete your personal information (subject to record-keeping laws for completed orders).
• Withdraw consent to marketing emails at any time (we don't currently send any, but if that changes, unsubscribing will be one click).

Children

Our site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe your child has given us information, please contact us and we'll delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we make a material change to this policy, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of the page. For significant changes, we'll also post a notice on the website homepage for 30 days.
