Colleen Gray is a Mi’kmaw/Acadian/Irish Contemporary Storyteller Artist whose work is a visual tribute to the history, stories, people and lands of Turtle Island (you might know this as North America). Colleen’s paintings move freely between memory and myth, carrying a deep respect for the lands and waters that have shaped her life and practice. Colleen is also the founder of Art for Aid, a grassroots volunteer project that has been sending art supplies to remote Indigenous schools and youth art programs throughout Canada since 2013. In 2019 she was awarded the Governor General of Canada “Sovereign Medal for Volunteering” for her work with Art for Aid.
